This mission statement once hung on the wall of the DeWitt Camp where they gathered and pursued the whitetail and on occasion lost their shirt tails.

"The DeWitt Camp" reads as follows:

"The DeWitt Camp was founded in 1978 to provide a meeting site for the DeWitt clan and their friends to pursue the joys of hunting the elusive whitetail buck.

The camp considers the hunting of the whitetail to be a privilege ~ not a right ~ and will insist all the rules of good sportsmanship and the hunting laws of the state of Pennsylvania be upheld.

The camp welcomes each of you, the honored guest, and invites you to enjoy the companionship of both old and new Friends and especially enjoy the spirit of the hunt."
