Why does food seem to leave us with such memories.....lingering scents, tastes, and feelings of contentment? Pure pleasure at just the thoughts of some of the delicacies that we enjoy not only now, but those from years gone by nearly as fresh in our minds today. There's something heartwarming when I hear my kids asking for the same treats and dishes that I enjoyed as a child.

I made this recipe at Olivia's last birthday party and it was a big hit

Pea Salad

1 bag frozen peas - thawed
1 Cup finely diced cheddar cheese
1 Cup finely diced celery
1/2 Cup thinly sliced sweet pickles
1/2 Cup diced red pepper or pimentos
1/2 Cup Mayo
salt & pepper to taste
Combine all ingredients. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours.

A few more....

Hot Crab Dip

1/2 Cup Milk
1/3 Cup Salsa
3 - 8oz cream cheese cubed
2 - cans crab meat - drained
1 Cup sliced onion
1 Can green chilies

Combine all and put in slow cooker stirring frequently. Cook 3-4 hours

Velveeta Dip

1 # Plain Velveeta cheese
1 8oz salsa
1# browned hamburger or sausage
1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup

Mix together and heat until cheese melted. Serve with chips or crackers
